To keep outdoor exercise safe, fun and comfortable, it may be time to update your summer wardrobe. Heres a variety of hats, shorts and other essentials for men and women that will keep you dry and comfortable all summer long. If you are someone who regularly workouts at a fitness club or exercises in their home, you may find it more difficult to keep up your activity level during the summer months. And, who can blame you? Exercising indoors can be less than motivating when you prefer to spend time playing outside. Below is a list of some fun activities you can try out as a beginner or improve your skills on if you are already familiar with them. Summer Weight Loss Tips When you are doing weight loss exercise in the heat of summer there are some important tips to remember: It is most important that you listen to your body at all times during training. If you are feeling a little bit “heat stroke-ish” then call it quits for the day and relax. There is no hurry. Summer Weight Loss Exercises Here are some ideas for weight loss exercise that can be done comfortably (or near comfortably) in the heat of summer. Swimming Swimming at the beach or in a non-heated pool is an oldie but a goodie. You can get your heart rate up, work all your muscles in a low impact environment and stay cool while you are doing it! Swimming is great for the lungs and is an excellent idea for a weight loss workout on a hot day. You may find that it really helps some of your old tired muscles too! Indoors cardio I know this may sound a little bit obvious but I’m going to say it anyway. Most of us have air-conditioning and if not then it is usually cooler inside. There are plenty of indoors workouts that can be done at your own home so that you can stay cool: The list could go on for quite some time. Be creative and remember that weight loss will be most successful if it is fun. It doesn’t have to be 110% every single day of your life! Aqua classes At my gym there is always a bunch of crazy people in the pool doing group workouts with floating weights and other devices. While it looks funny to the observer, they always come out quite puffed out and red in the face. I am tempted to try on of these classes just to see how it goes - anything in a pool sounds good when it is 40 degrees celcius! Rough it! Some of my best workouts are days when I have gone out in the heat and run flat out for miles. However, I am always smart about it and keep well hydrated and stop if I am getting dizzy or anything like that. I more gentle version of this type of rough exercise is quite good on days when you are feeling particularly energetic and the massive amounts of sweat probably do wonders in cleaning out your system.
